Latvian Wave Riding Open Championship 2009

1.1. Competition will be held in any of week days between 1st of September and 30th of November.

1.2. Official home page, where particular date will be announced, is www.vindserfings.lv. Information also can

be found www.boards.lv and www.surfline.lv.

2.1. The event is organized by Latvijas Zēģelētāju savienība (LZS), supported by Latvijas Vindsērfinga Asociācija

(LVA), technically performed by Boards.lv Team.

2.2. The event is sponsored by shop Boards.lv, Gaastra sails, Tabou boards, AB Tehnoloģiju korporācija,

Ibumetin, Plandent, Radio SWH, Windsurf.lv.

3.1. The event will be based on Pavilosta or Liepaja beaches.

4.1. The event is based on:

4.1.1. 2009/2012 ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS)

4.1.2. International Funboard Class Association (IFCA) class rules

4.1.3. Rules of wave cup of Latvia

4.1.4. Notice of race

4.2. Where there is a conflict between Class Rules and the NOR, the NOR will take precedence.

4.3. Attendance at the Prize giving & closing ceremony is mandatory for coaches, team leaders & competitors.

5.1. Latvian championship is open and everyone can take part in it.

5.2. All competitors shall race in one division - open.

6.1. Depending on number of competitors shall be used single, double or dingle elimination system.

6.2. Used elimination system shall be announced in skipper meeting before the race.

6.3. Not more than four competitors shall be included in one heat.

6.4. Two competitors with highest score shall proceed next except first round in dingle elimination system and

finals.

6.5. Competitors in heats of first round shall be choosing based on raffle.

7.1. All competitors shall bring their own equipment.

8.1. National letters & sail numbers shall be in colors that contrast strongly with the body of the sail; placed

immediately above the event advertising; and positioned according to RRS App. G. Alternatively sail

insignias may be placed back to back on a white background. All Sails shall otherwise comply with the

national letter system according to the RRS 77 and App. G.

8.2. Before start of the each fleet, four color licras will be given, in a purpose to help the judges distinguishing

competitors on water.

8.3. After the end of the each fleet lycras should be given immediately back to competition organizers in main

tent.

9.1. If personal buoyancy is prescribed, each competitor & support boat crewmember shall wear a jacket,

harness, or vest above the waist, with a minimum buoyancy of 4kg uninflected, in fresh water. The

buoyancy shall be tested with a ferrous metal weight of 4kg, which shall remain supported for a

minimum of 5 minutes.

10.1. Competitors take part in all races at their own risk. The LVA, LZS or any of their officials or

representatives or the sponsors or their officials or representatives are not responsible, under any

circumstances, for any damage, loss or injury either ashore or on the water either to persons or

equipment. Participation in this event, supporting events and in each race in them is at the sole

discretion of the sailor and at his/her own risk.

11.1. Competition area will be marked by flags.

11.2. Place of training and sailing will be at downwind side of competition area.

11.3. Disqualification will be used against competitors who will sail in competition area outside their heat.

12.1. The RRS low points scoring system shall apply.

12.2. Moves shall be counted according rules of wave cup of Latvia apposition Nr.5.

14.1. All needed information shall be available on notice board, incl.:

14.1.1. Competition area;

14.1.2. Time of skippers meeting;

14.1.3. Time of first heat;

14.1.4. Elimination table;

14.1.5. List of competitors;

14.1.6. Results;

14.1.7. Time and place of Prize Giving Ceremony.

14.2. Notice board shall be placed near secretariat or in competition area.

14.3. Information about results shall be placed on notice board after each heat.

15.1. Protests shall be preceded according rules of wave cup of Latvia.

15.2. Commission of protests shall consist of three members.
